COVID-19 Update: Business Open as Usual through the Holiday Season

New “Test to Release” Scheme – The UK government in England has announced a testing strategy applicable to incoming travellers for COVID-19. There isn’t free testing, and there is no airport-based testing. This prohibits testing via NHS, and mandates private, expensive testing. This places limitations applicable to Kasey Phifer, Director.

We’re Still Open for Business as Usual

Kasey is travelling with her partner to Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. It has just been announced today (Thursday 10/12/2020) that returning travellers must quarantine for 14 days upon return. This “Test to Release” scheme dictates that after 5 full days of being in the UK, affected persons will be eligible to purchase a COVID test (antigen or otherwise, it’s not yet 100% clear) and with negative results can roam about freely prior to the fortnight deadline.

Exempt persons include those critical to conducting clinical trials. Kasey is the lead practitioner of the organization that is the Sponsor-Investigator of a clinical trial on “Long Lyme” – PEMF therapy to reduce or relieve the chronic effects of Lyme Disease. See details here.

This exemption means that Kasey will be able to spend Christmas Eve with her sister and nephews and family in Bristol as she’s done for the past 8 or 9 years – starting when she studied in Berlin, Germany – but Kasey’s partner will be unable to join in the festivities and unable to be on call for the RLNI, a volunteer emergency service saving lives at sea.

Therapy Sessions Will Continue As Planned

Due to Kasey’s exemption, sessions will continue as planned on the 29th and 30th of December 2020.

Every Thursday at 5pm the ‘travel corridor’ and other travel-related restrictions will be reviewed within the UK government and any changes announced; hence this availability is subject to change.
